The Standard Oboe
The instrument I will be doing is the standard Oboe which is part of the Woodwind family. It makes its' sound by blowing into the reed and then closing or opening holes using your fingers which makes the reed vibrate and the vibration makes air inside move which produces the sound. The standard Oboe produces a treble/soprano pitch. To change the pitch, as I mentioned before, you have to close/open the holes to let/not let the air escape which will change the pitch. It is also made of metal (the keys of the Oboe) and the Oboe itself is made of wood. There is also a conical bore and a flared bell.

A thorough explanation of the oboe well done. One thing you could look into to further your knowledge, is the different types of reeds that are used in the woodwind family. Just a clarification... the air/reed causes the vibration not the opening & closing of keys.
