Me, Myself and I Project

Week 9
This week i finished my me myself and I project, and it was a bit difficult. I found it a little bit hard because i had to create my own song and record it. I also found it really interesting because i created my own 'masterpiece' :D I had also created 2 songs but changed the 1st song completely. I also did it on the piano because i play it (my mum is teaching me because she used to go to a music school and plays very well.) Here's the video:

Term 2 Week # ___ and things we did

Week 1
What we did: we did the hunter's theme on piano and a test on notes. I found it real easy to identify the notes however the timing in the hunter's theme was difficult.

Week 2
What we did: We practised more on the hunter's theme and did peter's theme and another pitch test. I also found peter's theme a bit difficult because it required many more notes and better timing but in the end i got it. I found the note test easy because i memorized the rhyme for he space between the lines and the letters on the lines. I will post the video after the next lesson when we record it.

Week 3
What we did: This week we made our first mixcraft peter and the wolf theme document and i found it a little bit difficult at first because i had never used mixcraft before but now it is easier even though it is still not super easy.
Here is the document i made:
Week 4
What we did: This week i started the peter's theme in mixcraft and finished it. O also found it really easy to play it but still a bit hard to mix it down because i didn't have the experience yet and had almost no time. Here is the file:

Week 5
This week i had started the Wolf's theme and i am progressing well to finishing it. Edit: I had already finished mixing it down and am starting to upload it and it was even harder to play since it required more precise timing in some spots. I am also starting the bird's theme. Here it is (wolf's theme):

Percussion

Maracas

The instrument I chose for the percussion family is the Maracas. They are often made of gourds (a type of squash) and dried seeds or beads are places inside so once you shake them they produce sound. They are also sometimes made of clay, wood or coconut shells. The maracas is a pair of 2 maracas and one of them is pitched high whilst the other is pitched lower. There is also a few variables such as how hard someone shakes them so I cannot determine the exact pitch nor how it changes.

Strings

The Harp

The instrument for the family of strings that I choose is the harp. The harp has 47 strings grouped in pitch-classes: C, D, E, F, G, A, B. Each pitch class can be tuned flat, natural, or sharp by shifting a pedal. To hear individual notes across the range of the harp, first choose whether you want them damped or undamped. It is usually made of wood, with nylon, metal, and/or gut strings, although carbon fiber harps are now being made, which are extremely lightweight and virtually indestructible. The strings of the harp are strung across the instrument's sturdy frame in such a manner as to pull them tight and maximize the vibrations of the strings. The frame is also shaped to allow the strings to be positioned from short to long in a triangular shape, letting the player pluck both short strings and long strings at the same level. The shorter strings play higher pitched notes, while the longer strings play lower pitched notes. This is because the larger an object is, the more slowly it will vibrate, creating a deeper sound.

Brass

Tuba

The instrument I chose for the brass family is called the Tuba. It is made up of vertically coiled tubing, three or four valves, a wide conical bore, flared bell, and a cup-shaped mouthpiece. The primary material is brass (brass instruments.) Brass is an alloy made of copper and zinc. Other metals that may also be added to modify the characteristics include tin and nickel. The most common type used in the construction of instruments is yellow brass that contains a 70/30 blend of copper and zinc. It was made to add a bass sound to brass ensembles. It produces its' sound on a brass instrument comes from a vibrating column of air inside the instrument and that makes sound as the air comes out.

Woodwinds

The Standard Oboe

The instrument I will be doing is the standard Oboe which is part of the Woodwind family. It makes its' sound by blowing into the reed and then closing or opening holes using your fingers which makes the reed vibrate and the vibration makes air inside move which produces the sound. The standard Oboe produces a treble/soprano pitch. To change the pitch, as I mentioned before, you have to close/open the holes to let/not let the air escape which will change the pitch. It is also made of metal (the keys of the Oboe) and the Oboe itself is made of  wood. There is also a conical bore and a flared bell.
